A small, but enthusiastic group of boaters entered the river races at the 2023 Ridgway RiverFest on June 24. The winners of all race categories won a limited edition 2023 Ridgway RiverFest award, handcrafted by Ridgway artist Joanne Taplin and donated by Canyon Bridge.
Stand-up Paddleboard Race Winners: 1st place- Scott Powell of Ridgway, 2nd place- Levi Brown of Montrose, 3rd place- Mo Hanna of Telluride, and Tim Swann of Ridgway
Inflatable Boat Race Winners: 1st place- Dan & Orion Catron of Ridgway, 2nd place- Chuck Heywood of Ridgway, and Xander Catron of Ridgway
Hard-shell Boat Race Winner: 1st place- Sarah Castle & Guthrie Castle of Ridgway, canoe
Junk of the Unc Winner: Boaz Kinne and Liam Coughlin of Ridgway, winning a Guided Via Ferrata Trip for 4 people from Mountain Trip!
Rubber Ducky Hunt: A grand prize winner was awarded a $250 check from Black Hills Energy and two runners-up won passes to the Ute Indian Museum and hats donated by Mountain Fever
