Rubber Ducky Race postponed to July 24

Due to high flows in the Uncompahgre River during RiverFest, the Uncompahgre Watershed Partnership will hold the Uncompahgre Rubber Ducky Race* on Thursday, July 24, at 5 p.m. We welcome the whole community to come out to see the flock of yellow duckies float down the river!

Ducky entries will be sold online beginning on June 23 and ending on July 23. In-person ducky entry sales will happen as usual at the Ridgway RiverFest at Rollans Park on Saturday, June 28, plus more in-person sales will happen at the Ridgway Concert Series at Hartwell Park on July 3, 10, and 17!

Proceeds from rubber ducky sales will support UWP’s nonprofit operations, and be leveraged to obtain grants and donations.

*While a Rubber Ducky Hunt has replaced the ducky race on the river in past years with high flows, the decision was made in 2025 to postpone the ducky race to a date with lower flows where it is easier to catch the ducks in the river. So, no on-land ducky hunt will happen in the Rollans Park grove this year.
